This gloss coated paper adopts wet pulp bulk dyed black core base stock together with high performance water based gloss coating technology. Different from ordinary black cards which only apply black pigment on white base surface, this material delivers solid black tone from surface to paper core, avoiding annoying white exposure under 90 degree bending, die cutting and engraving processes. The coating reaches 4B adhesion grade with good scratch and wear resistance, and its gloss value stays stably between 85-95GU.

Optimized by weather resistant aging formula, it retains original quality for five years under normal warehousing conditions. The complete grammage matrix covers 120 400gsm and supports full set of post processes including hot stamping, UV printing, embossing and die cutting, laying reliable substrate foundation for high end printing and packaging projects.

What is the essential difference between TONLI gloss coated paper and ordinary gloss black cardstock on the market?

The difference lies in the base paper process. TONLI uses wet-process pulp dyeing to create a through-dyed black core, then applies a water-based high-gloss coating, so the paper is black from the inside out and shows no white edges even at 90-degree folds. Ordinary products are mostly white base paper with a black surface coating plus varnish, which exposes the white core at folds and peels easily. Coating adhesion on our paper reaches Grade 4B or above.

Will the gloss surface show uneven reflection, bright spots, or color inconsistency across a bulk order?

No. We apply a double-sided symmetrical coating process so the coating is uniform and full across the sheet, with consistent reflection and transparency. Batch color difference is controlled within Delta-E 0.5, which means cartons produced months apart can still be displayed side by side without visible variation — a critical requirement for brand packaging programs.

What does a gloss value of 85-95 GU actually deliver in terms of visual presentation?
