CHARLES & KEITH Packaging Base Paper Cooperation Case
In 2024, Tonli officially joined the supply chain of CHARLES & KEITH, a global affordable luxury fashion brand, and became its approved supplier of packaging base paper. Tonli takes charge of custom base paper R&D, sample adjustment, mass production delivery and full-process quality control, and partners with downstream printing factories to complete all post-processing of finished packaging. This forms a complete closed loop from base paper development to final product delivery.
CHARLES & KEITH is known for its natural, minimalist luxury and eco-friendly design philosophy, and sets strict standards for packaging surface texture, color consistency and environmental certification. The brand requires sugarcane pulp as the core raw material to retain the natural fiber texture on paper, while meeting European forest sustainability certification requirements. To meet these needs, Tonli specially developed a sugarcane pulp natural fiber packaging base paper. Made from high-quality sugarcane pulp and produced via precision paper-making, the paper fully preserves the fine texture of natural sugarcane fibers. It features a natural, premium matte finish that perfectly aligns with the brand’s eco-friendly and minimalist luxury identity.
During the project, Tonli’s technical team completed four full rounds of sample iterations and multiple technical discussions. We quickly adjusted surface texture, calibrated color and verified environmental qualifications. Each round of sampling included fine-tuning of fiber distribution, color uniformity and physical strength, ensuring the paper retains natural texture while delivering excellent printability and forming stability. The sample finally passed the brand’s official approval, and we secured long-term supply qualification.
During mass production, Tonli controls the entire process in-house. First, we preserve the natural sugarcane fiber texture on the paper surface to highlight its natural grain. Next, a high-precision uniform base coating process ensures an even, full base color. A surface wear-resistant coating is then added to significantly improve scratch and abrasion resistance. Finally, the paper supports all high-end packaging finishing processes such as custom printing and lamination. Every step accurately delivers CHARLES & KEITH’s simple, natural and understated luxury visual style. Each production batch comes with full environmental traceability test reports, strictly meeting the green packaging standards of international brands.
